Year 1

Just like young trees putting down deeper roots and reaching for the sky, our Year 1 children are growing stronger, braver, and more curious every day. In Year 1, we nurture each unique learner—our Eager Explorers, Confident Climbers, and Brilliant Bloomers—as they begin to stretch, branch out, and blossom in new and exciting ways.

With care, guidance, and a little sunshine from both home and school, our children grow their learning, build resilience, and discover just how high they can reach!

Home School Reading Books

Children will be given two reading books each week. It is expected that they will read at home at least four times a week and that an adult signs their Reading Record book. Reading folders are to be brought into school each day to allow teaching staff to hear children read and to change books.

Water Bottles

Children need to bring a fresh water bottle into school each day.

P.E.

Class 3 and 4 have P.E.:
  • Wednesday (outdoor)
  • Friday (indoor).
Children should come into school wearing their full P.E. kit on the days they have P.E. (Grey navy or black Jogging bottoms / black shorts, green Appletree t-shirt, hoodie and trainers.)
